See [Tree Search](/getting-started/useful-information/searching.md) for an alternative method. Simply describe what you are looking for in plain English and the results show just the matching items. **Search term:** enter a string of characters, for example, AB123 will find uukAB123 and xab123txy. Searches are not case-sensitive. Then click the Search button (or use the Return key). The search term will be compared against the name, the description (if available) and the email address (for users only). You can also search on the device IP address, reference, product type and interface for watches. Jump straight to any match in the hierarchy. Search across a wide range of attributes, not just names: what something is, how it is configured, and its current state. Combine searches with semi-colon delimited conditions such as *dormant watches; watches with an upstream of > 100MB; cameras*. You can also save the searches you run most often and recall them in a click.\ \ Searches returning "No results" are logged and reviewed to see if the search function can be improved. A bar appears under the search criteria showing the total items found and to indicate the results list below is filtered.\ Clear search returns the search criteria to default values. --- # Agent Instructions This documentation is published with GitBook.
